Wowee!!!

These past 2 days have been full of action. As I left off  (or so I think) we were going off to or trip in a trip. We got to our first site in Moab (you can google it) and went to dinner at the Moab Brewery. That night was unbearable. We slept from 9 pm to 12 am then  got woken up because it was extremely hot. It started the might at 70 f and by midnight it was about 100 f.  We were up till 1:30 then fell asleep till 6.  Te next day we went to Delicate Arch (google it), then Negro Bill Canyon (google it). Both were amazing. Today we did 3 short hikes, then did a rock scramble up a mountain, then we had sunset at balancing rock (google it). Today it was Canyon Lands, yesterday it was Arches. We decided that we are not going to have another night like our 1st night, so we booked in to a Hampton Inn. And the best part, it has AC!!! Bye y'all, Adios Amigos, Shalom Alyechem, Mr. Awesome A.K.A Ben

  2. Benjamin . . . please excuse my delay in answering your most recent blog. I have had to spend an inordinate amount of time googling your references. In the future, you might want to keep in mind the words of that great philosopher, Brother Josiah Moskowitz, who said "If you can't dazzle them with your brilliance. . . . then don't bother." Actually, the quote ended a bit differently, but I am sensitive to the fact that Granny and Grandma Joanie may be reading this.
You know, I'm sure, that the Moab Brewry is spoken of often in the lore of the great pioneer Shleppers. Many years of wandering in the desert finally brought them to the only Kosher restaurant West of the Pecos. Sister Mary Elizabeth and Brother Josiah engaged in one of the great beer drinking contests of all time. Brother Joe then proceeded to pee for forty days and forty nites in Negro Bill's Canyon. This turned the local stream into a rushing river which carved out the Delicate Arch. This entire event was memorialized in the well read book "Yellow River" by I.P. Daley.
(My apologies to Granny and Grandma Joanie. I have to write for my primary audiance - he of the dazzling smile, suppressed ego and outrageously beautiful and charming sister.)

  3. Sorry it took so long to respond. I had so much "google-ing" to do!!!!!!! Those are some amazing sights you are taking in...particularly the one called "Hampton Inn".......The cool breezes, the calming hummmmmmmm of the beautiful AC. After experiencing something like that, it's hard to imagine what's next!!!! I love that your parents took you to a Brewery for dinner. We have one of those here in Bucktown. As I recall we took Sarah there and we giggled a lot. Did your "brew" have a similar effect? No one has mentioned Sally... Is she still with you?????? I know she doesn't get to experience the camping joys, but how is she fairing back at the house? I hope she is able to do a few "rock scrambles" of her own. We so love hearing from you and Sarah. Thanks for all the news. Love Love Love you and miss you...
